Registration Open (and Announcements for) Drupal North 2019

26 April 2019

Hello Drupalers!

Registration is now officially open for the fifth annual Drupal North.

We're back in Montreal this year following last year's success in Toronto. The event is taking place at Concordia University's John Molson School of Business from Wednesday, June 12 to Friday, June 14.

Register Now!

The organizing committee has been putting together a great line-up of trainings, summits, sessions and networking opportunities for attendees. Here's what we'd love to share with you right now.

This year we're offering two exciting full-day summits on Wednesday, June 12.

1. The Higher Education Summit is an opportunity for site owners, IT managers, developers, content creators, and agencies dedicated to supporting and advancing the use of Drupal in academia to share, learn, and strengthen our community of practice.

2. The Decoupled Drupal Summit delves into all things related to using API-first initiatives to expose Drupal content. The summit gives developers the opportunity to share, learn and discuss their experiences building decoupled projects.

You can see the schedules and read more about the Higher Education Summit and the Decoupled Drupal Summit on our website.

Note that costs for the summits are in addition to your 2-day Drupal North admission.

We are offering some great training opportunities to attendees for an additional fee on Wednesday, June 12th.

The three subsidized courses are priced below industry standard and feature some of the best trainers and programs in the Drupal community. Costs for the 3-hour trainings are in addition to your 2-day Drupal North admission.

1. Web Accessibility for Drupal
Learn how to apply accessibility standards to your design and development practices. Get hands-on experience testing and implementing accessibility improvements through Drupal site building and theming.

2. What is Drupal?
Drupal is a popular, open source content management system. It powers websites for governments, NGOs, communities, and businesses around the world. Drupal 8, the newest version, has many exciting features for end users, site builders, and developers.

4. Drupal 8 Theming Fundamentals
You'll get an introduction to themes in Drupal 8, gain an understanding of contributed themes from the Drupal community and will explore how to develop custom themes of your own.

There are always great opportunities to meet and get to know other Drupalers during Drupal North - whether it's at the coffee station or during a one-on-one conversation with another Drupaler or with one of our sponsors. This year we're adding a networking reception to our schedule that follows the summits and trainings, starting at 5 p.m. at the same venue.

Even if you haven't been part of the summits or trainings, we'd love to see you for this sponsored event that will run well into the evening.

More details about this and other events will follow.

Sessions and Schedule

We're closing session submissions next week and will be posting the schedule after our selections. We've had some great submissions so far from diverse speakers with topics on a wide range of Drupal, technology and business-related subjects. We'll send out a notice once the schedule is up but please visit the website in the upcoming weeks to view the schedule and start to plan out your days.

And before you ask... Yes! All sessions will be recorded again this year and will be available online.

  • Another one of our speakers works at one of the leading advertising companies in the country, using Drupal to inspire and elevate the entire customer experience

  • Our Summit Keynotes just happen to be experts in the fields of Decoupled and Higher Education (go figure), and will have some great stories to tell

  • We've also lined up community leaders to give us insights on what's popular now, current market trends, and what's to come for us as Drupal enthusiasts!

And again, a huge thanks to our sponsors!

Without the tremendous support and backing from our sponsors, this event would not be possible.

Thank you!!
